Kalodiki Lake (or Kalodiki Marsh) and the wider area of Morfati in Thesprotia constitute an extremely important wetland of Epirus, which is protected by European and national laws due to its unique biodiversity.
Protection Status :Natura 2000 Network (SCI & SPA): Kalodiki Marsh has been classified as a Site of Community Interest (SCI) with code GR2120002. Also, together with the marshes of Margariti, Karteri and Lake Prondani, it constitutes a Special Protection Area (SPA) for birds with code GR2120006.Nature Protection Area: Due to its great ecological and biological value, it has been proposed and classified as a “nature protection” area (based on Law 1650/86).
