For those guests they are coming in Parga for their Holidays in August ,they have the opportunity to see our 1 day special celebration of 15 th August in Parga in Panagia Island and The famous Barcarola and the famous fireworks ,.On that Special day ( 15th of August) there is live music .As we are locals born and lived in Parga we hear several myths and stories from our gran mothers and gran fathers and goes on from one generation to the other generation .A Myth or a true story to explain the island in Panagia is (THAT thousands years ago Parga was built up to the hills on mountains (called PalioParga) and they had a small church there with the Icon of Panagia .One day the icon of Panagia disappears from that small church and all people did not know what to say. One day someone found this icon down by the beach and in the small island. They took it back to the small church in PalioParga. After few days the icon again disappears and again someone found in the same place in the island and they took it back again in the small church .After weeks AGAIN the icon of Panagia disappears and again has been found in that small island down by the see. Then they started to talk and thought that was a shign from the God (THAT THEY HAVE TO MOVE DOWN TO THE SEE ),Thing they have done and they built the church in the small island, called Panagia Island.
